Intermediate Programming
The intermediate students at Glengarry benefit from a safe and engaging environment. A dedicated wing and access to their own specialty areas provide the students with a wealth of experiences and opportunities usually found in larger schools but without losing the caring and comfort of a smaller school.
Glengarry offers Core French and Extended French programs. Students also benefit from focus groupings in Media Arts, Music and Science/Technology.
Intermediate students have separate breaks and lunches from the secondary students. During their lunch period, students have access to our cafeteria. They also have the opportunity to access the gym, computer lab and/or library. Outdoor time is also included.
Students have access to many types of technology that help support learning such as elmos, smartboards, computers, etc... Our intermediate students also have their own full computer lab.
Extra-curriculars are an important part of a well-balanced education. Our intermediate students have the opportunity to participate in many sports and clubs. Seven to twelve clubs and activities such as our school band also exist for students who will benefit from the mentorship of our secondary students.
Grade 7 and 8 is a very interesting time in a student's development. Many changes occur academically, socially, emotionally and physically. Our intermediate staff has a strong understanding of the needs of adolescents and how to support them through these changes.
